A Letter From The Prez
Welcome to New Hampshire Parrot Head Club’s 2019 New England Convention, Somethin’ ‘Bout a Boat! We’re happy you came to check us out, and we hope that what you see here convinces you that February 28 to March 3, 2019 is going to be an absolute blast! We fully intend to live up to the parrot head motto of “Party for a Purpose.” We’ve got 3 great charities that will benefit from our gathering – NH Make-A-Wish Foundation, Anne Marie House, and Liberty House. You’re probably already familiar with the great work that Make-A-Wish does, fulfilling the wishes of sick children. Anne Marie House and Liberty House are 2 local NH organizations working to provide assistance to those in need, each with their own focus. Anne Marie House works to provide housing for families in need, while Liberty House does the same for our veterans. We’ve got an amazing music lineup in the works to keep you entertained all weekend long. We’ve also got a bunch of fun games and activities being planned so the fun will never stop! Whether this is your first New England Parrot Head Convention, or you’re a returning conventioneer, we’re convinced that you’ll really enjoy what we’re putting together. So go ahead – take a look around, and I hope that what you see makes you click on that “Registration” button up there!

Scott Kirby & The Massacoustics
Scott Kirby and the Massacoustics will be opening up the 24th annual New England Parrot Head Convention on Thursday night! Each of these multi-talented performers rock the stage all on their own, but together brings it to a completely new level! Both groups call New England home even though they now live in Key West and California! Thier experience and true love of music will ensure a night of amazing live music that’ll set the bar pretty high. Get ready!
Drop Dead Dangerous
Drop Dead Dangerous is a musical force. Two women who met touring independently, teamed up and are ready to take on the world. Since their start in autumn of 2015, they have toured and performed in front of the continental United States and Caribbean islands. Vocalist and guitar player, Kitty Steadman, is arguably the most powerful female vocalist the southern rock and country-music landscape has heard. Melanie Howe, commonly known as “The Djembabe”, effortlessly fills the pocket with groove. Her wild drum kit and percussion rig leave audiences saying “how in the Hell can she do all of that?!” Blending with “sister-like” harmonies, Drop Dead Dangerous released their first album, “Drop Dead LIVE” including regular band mates JD Edge and Paul Wray. You can catch them in night clubs, festivals, beach bars, and honky tonks; traveling thousands of miles with their “ready to party” attitude.
Thom & Coley
Thom and Coley and their dog Odie the Roadie travel the world telling their stories and singing their songs that make people laugh and cry. They were both writing for Nashville publishing companies in the same building when they met. Their first date was a Deryl Dodd show at the Blue Bar in Nashville on April Fool’s Day, 2011. They relocated to Texas later that year and were married by Elvis in Las Vegas on October 23rd, 2015.
Coley McCabe is a platinum-selling songwriter who hails from West Virginia. She has performed numerous times on the Grand Ole Opry. Thom Shepherd is originally from St. Louis, MO, is the writer of two number one country songs, “Riding with Private Malone” and “Redneck Yacht Club,” three Texas Music number ones, “Beer Season,” “My Texas,” and “The Night Is Young,” has had over 100 songs recorded by other artists, two songs on Grammy nominated albums, and multiple top ten hits nationwide and in Texas.
Ryan Sheley & Friends
Ryan Sheley is joined by Tommie John and Tod Sheley, formerly of Homemade Wine. The three will bring a splash of old, mixed with new and topped off with a few shots of Tennessee champagne, because that is how they roll.
After spending years building success as the frontman for Homemade Wine, singer/songwriter Ryan Sheley embarked on a new solo venture. Sheley seeks to explore a more intimate side of music, a more pure expression of himself through scaled-down, acoustic songwriting. The style is perfectly suited for a man who has familiarized himself to fans across the country through tireless touring and personal interactions.
Tommie John, Knoxville-area born and raised. Multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter. Performing both as a solo artist and as a sideman for many other regional acts. I don’t like to eat my veggies.
Tod tracks his Trop Rock roots back to the legendary St. Somewhere with the likes of Paul Bobal and Quincy Yeates. Tod later joined up with his brother, Ryan to form another legendary band, Homemade Wine which took the genre by storm.
No Shoes Nation Band
The five accomplished musicians of the No Shoes Nation Band pay tribute to Kenny Chesney’s incredible catalog of Billboard Charting hit songs from his top selling albums. The No Shoes Nation Band recreates a Kenny Chesney show, playing the music you know and love. The No Shoes Nation Band brings the thrill and excitement of a Kenny Chesney concert with the same outstanding musicianship that has driven Kenny to sell out stadiums all over the country. A No Shoes Nation Band show is guaranteed to engage any size crowd, bringing them to their feet and keeping the “No Shoes Nation” fans coming back time after time!
As a long-time Parrot Head, Todd has been influenced by the tropical laid back styles of Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney as well as Trop Rock artists like Kelly McGuire, John Frinzi and Jim Morris. Todd entered the Trop Rock music scene in 2016 with his first ever CD entitled ‘Paradise’ that contains eleven original tracks and one Buffett cover. With a mixture of Trop Rock and Americana sounds, Todd is slowly working towards his second CD release, hopefully due out fall of 2017. Todd has performed for parrot heads in Key West, at New England Parrot Head Conventions, at parrot head functions, at house concerts and private parties as well as at Corporate Events and local restaurants.
Bob Karwin began his career in 1990, storming the Irish pubs and college bars of Boston. His reputation grew quickly for being able to stand on stage armed with nothing more than a guitar and microphone and tame any unruly crowd that was fired up on Guinness and Jack Daniels.
In 1993, he packed up his Jeep and drove cross-country, pocketing the stories of the people and places he passed along the way. His musical blend of humor, energy, and reality have earned him a dedicated following in his adopted southern California home and around the world. Bob is now a full fledged Californian, strolling the beaches and vowing to never shovel a driveway ever again.
A 22-year-old New Jersey-born musician is being touted as the “youngest ever” trop rock, now turned contemporary pop artist.
He credits his unique and approachable fusion sound to being raised on a hybrid of musical influences that ranged from country to classic rock. “Playing on the radio in mom’s car (while growing up) was soft rock and ‘lite fm,’ while dad tuned into classic rock stations,” he remembers. Fabbz remembers first picking up his guitar — and not unlike many young aspiring rockers –trying to pluck out one of the most famous guitar riffs of all time: Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.” But his ongoing exposure to all genres of music, along with his performing in such eclectic groups as church choirs, school choruses and community musical theaters, helped him hone in on the sound he brings audiences today.
Tsunami of Sound
Tsunami of Sound plays high energy surf, garage rock in the style of the Ventures, Link Wray and Los Straitjackets!
